Journal Swap

I took part in a journal swap at the Scrap-n-Crop forum. We took an A5 journal and altered the covers and then sent it to our swap partner. This is the one that Naddy made for me :-) It's got really cool texture on the cover and lots of rubbons.

And this is the one I made for her.

I used the Basic Grey 2 scoops range, Fiskars threading water punch, bling, rickrack, prima flowers, beads and metal corners. Oh and ink on the edges of the paper :-)

Kinda Sweet Child's Play Kit

I did these LO's with the Child's Play kit from Kinda Sweet. It has some lovely double sided papers in it. :-) Hard to choose which side of the paper to use!

1st one is Aaron reading "the Lion King" to Maddison (she was 16 days old!).

This pic of Maddison was taken early August and I printed the photo in sepia to tone in with the papers.

In the kit there's a sheet of tags, I have lots left and will probably make more cards from them. Here's one I made. (Good job I have lots of nephews!)

All Materials from Kinda Sweet Child's Play kit except:

1st LO - Bazzill cardstock, Ranger Distress ink Tea Dye, double sided foam tape, circle punch.

2nd LO - Bazzill cardstock, Ranger Distress ink Tea Dye, Fiskars Threading Water Punch.

Card - Bazzill & Jennnifer Birch cardstock, ribbon, Ranger Distress ink Faded Jeans.

Saturday

Not much happening round here today. Had a late night (went to a mall for tea and had another look at shelving at Ikea), so had a bit of a sleep in this morning. :-)

So here's some pics of the kids. Maddison "reading" and strutting her stuff with Aaron's woollen hat on! (Pic a bit blurry sorry she was moving too fast!). She loves hats as much as shoes, but doesn't keep them on very long when they are sun hats and she's in the sun!!

Today Lyndon was changing a light bulb in computer room and Aaron said to him "just a minute Daddy, I get my drill"!!! So he comes back with his Bob the Builder hat on and his drill. So funny. Love the concentration on his face while he's "drilling". hehehe (Doesn't understand the difference between a drill bit and a saw bit at the moment hehehe)

Thursday I decided to have a bit of a tidy up in my craft space. You can't tell that I did actually. It's a pigsty still. But I think it is a little bit better. Anyway I bought this little tin at Scrap-n-Crop last Saturday and decided to alcohol ink it. It fits my ATC collection in it (at the moment!!). Pretty cool. Not sure if I am going to decorate it with other things or leave it like that. (Have to have a think about it.)

Things that made me smile this morning ...

Aaron sleeping right through till 7am.

Maddison sleeping through till 6.45am, but I fed her and put her back down and she slept till 8.50am :-) (They had a late night - in bed around 10.15pm, so that's why I am so happy they slept really well.)

Lyndon telling me to get out of bed at quarter past 7! (This makes me laugh because 99% of the time it's me telling him to get out of bed!! I guess when he feels he has the chance to say it he makes the most of it!)

Maddison's vocab is growing all the time - she can say "sshhhss" (shoes), Dadda, Mummma, ohh owwww, and if you say she's a good girl she claps her hands heheehe. She has a word for Aaron as well, but not sure if I can spell it!

Aaron singing at the top of his lungs "itsy bitsy spider".

Maddison sitting down "reading" a animal board book.

Aaron eating his breakfast without any fuss.

Maddison coming up for a big cuddle with very smelly nappies (reason this makes me smile is it happens every time!! So typical.)

And on that note I have a job to do, so will finish here :-)

Woo Hoot

I truly can't believe it's Wednesday again! This is gonna be a real quick woo hoot because it's late (fell asleep on Aaron's bed!).

So ... Woo Hoot for Lyndon being home all week, and next :-) (Extra Big Woo Hoot for next week because there's 2 days public holidays - Wed, Thurs - and he's hoping to have Friday off as annual leave). Aaron has school holidays for the next 2 weeks, but not sure if I am going to woo hoot about that!!! LOL

Woo Hoot we all went to the mtg tonight. Maddison had another sleep, put her down about half past three and Aaron went to bed after he came home from school. We woke him at 7pm and I fed him his tea in the car on the way :-)

Woo Hoot I got some scrapping goodies in the mail - the next kit from Kinda Sweet. Looking forward to playing with this one!! :-)

Also got some mail from Mum with stuff in it from Grandad's funeral, so hoping to have some time tomorrow to sit and go through that.

Woo Hoot ... me and the kids are having an extra week in NZ when we are there on holiday :-)

Okay, better get to bed - tomorrows going to be busy as usual.

A couple of LO's

Did these LO's with papers and bits and bobs from Scrap-n-Crop. My scrapping is so all over the place! A recent photo of the kids in the angels LO, then pics from last Christmas, and I was looking at Maddison's album the other day and I have hardly done any pages of her past 6 days of age, there's some more recent photos been scrapped, but nothing much in between! Ahhh so much to scrap and not enough motivation or time! heheehe

Angels - yeah right!! Well that's why I go by the name Wishful Thinking I suppose! LOL Can you tell that I didn't have any chipboard L's left? Had to improvise with a 7. After I did it I showed Lyndon and I said can you tell and he said "Yes, of course I can"!! Huh, I thought I was being rather clever! :-} It's a pretty simple LO as the paper is really pretty, has glittery stars on it and I didn't want to take away from that too much. I used Stickles on the white border of the photo, the edge of the wings and on the exclamation mark. Oh and I so love the glimmer mist. It's so easy and fun to use :-)

This Christmas LO I used 2 pp's and put them on a vanilla coloured piece of Bazzill to frame them. Inked the edges of everything with Rangers Distress Fired Brick ink. This page is for our family album. I have actually scrapped pages for both the kids albums for last Christmas, they are the ones I submitted to CK mag in July and I still haven't heard anything. Wonder how long they take to let people know! It's a pretty long shot they will use mine, but worth a try. Will blog them once I know if they are interested or not.

All Materials from Scrap-n-Crop unless stated:
Angels LO
PP - Autumn Leaves - Rhonna Farrer Glittery Night
Cardstock- Bazzill
Memories Mists - Bright Gold, Sparkling Silver
American Craft Thickers, Maya Road Chipboard wings, Stickles
(from my stash - Chipboard letters (not sure of brand), Ribbon, Staple)
Christmas LO
PP - Autumn Leaves - Rhonna Farrer Crimson Swirl & Glitter Swirl
Cardstock - Bazzill - Vanilla Bean, Limeade
Ranger Distress Ink - Fired Brick
Stamp - Teresa Collins "Take Note"
Buttons
(from my stash - Ribbon, Foam tape, Copper metallic pen, Kindy Glitz Crystalina)

Random Photos of Maddison

I told you Maddison liked shoes didn't I?! Well the other night Jill came over for tea and Maddison discovered her "heels". So funny to watch, wish I had the video camera out. Complete and utter style huh!

But what's even funnier (well to me it is!) the other day she bought a pair of Aaron's Thomas undies to me and squealed and grunted which I interpreted to mean put them on her! :-) heehee Well she thought she was the cat's meow! LOL

Saturday afternoon Lyndon and I were lounging on the couches and Maddison was squealing repeatedly in her bedroom so after a bit thought I better check what she was up to! She had climbed up into the wardrobe, but couldn't get back down!

On another note ... I did this LO for the Moderators Challenge for September (A day in the life of ...) at Scrap-n-Crop. I've had these Heidi Swap fuzzy rubbons for a few months and hadn't used them, so opened them up and they are sooooo cool! My pic doesn't do them justice, but they are raised up and fuzzy, adds another dimension to your LO.

.
Also - check out Scrap-n-Crop's blog for their latest announcement ... I'm pretty excited about this! :-) heehe

And ... Kinda Sweet have got up on their blog the LO's I did for their Child's Play kit.

WOW ...

We went to Scrap-n-Crop's new shop today! AMAZING, just totally amazing. Val has moved from this tiny little room that was packed floor to ceiling (and spilling out the door!) with scrapping, stamping & crafting treasures to a very spacious residence! And it's looking so good. She's still waiting on the paper trays to arrive for all her papers and once they are up and filled it's gonna be fantastic :-) I'll be going back for sure! (heheehe don't tell Lyndon that!)

Val's kids were there and was so cool watching Aaron and Maddison playing with Becks and mess up Val's tidy displays!! Becks is 21 days older than Maddison and I like this photo ... Maddison has her hands and mouth stuffed with embossing powders and glitters and Becks is getting a basket for hers (so proper!) :-) Aaron was very curious about Bryant and spent a bit of time just watching him (with hands on hips!) when he was being fed.

And here's Mr Bossy Britches giving orders about something!!

Pink Pirate!!

Thought I would share the things I made from the Pirate Affair Kit from Kinda Sweet. You can see all the cards in more detail on their blog. I did a LO, a dozen cards and 2 ATC's and there's only a little bit of patterned paper left, a tiny bit of ribbon and some stickers. :-)

I would have loved to have dressed Maddison up as a little pink pirate, but decided it was going to be too much effort. (Lazy I know!)

Cards

1 of my favourites ... like the gold glimmer mist :-)

And my other fav ... the red crochet heart is so cool.

2 really simple ATC's

Woo Hoot

Doing Janine's Woo Hoot Wednesday seems to make the weeks go real fast!
.
.
What have I got to woo hoot about!?? I suppose I could start with the fact I have learnt my lesson about putting sunblock on the kids ... it would have to be MUCH cheaper than trips to the doctors! I can woo hoot too that the swelling in Aaron's face has gone down (that was from sunburn!), he's had the dressing from his arm removed today (that was on a burst sunburn blister that Maddison popped!).
.
I can woo hoot that Lyndon will be home tomorrow night, not that the kids will see him, but he'll be home :-)
.
Woo Hoot for the kids sleeping in this morning. Aaron actually woke at 6.45am crying and woke Maddison, but I put him in our bed and fed Maddison and tucked her back down and they both went back to sleep :-) (Maddison woke about 8.20am and Aaron at 8.45am.)
.
Woo Hoot I got to shower this morning on my own without worrying what the kids were up to (they were still sleeping).
.
On the scrapping front I can woo hoot that I did a LO yesterday and have started another one today, not sure if it will get finished today though!
.
That's about it. Better go and do the dishes, they haven't been done yet. I usually do them before the kids go to bed, but tonight I got Aaron to help me tidy the lounge. And WOO HOOT he actually helped without any applied force from me! :-) Mind you since he's a little bloke I do have to make it easy for him! LOL ... like pile the train track into a heap and tell him to cart it to the box. (Maddison is so different she just goes around picking them up and putting them away, she doesn't have to have them in a pile to be able to see them!! Girls definitely have better vision for finding things than boys!) heehee

Tuesday

What a day! Lyndon got up early (real early for him! LOL) around 6am and got picked up by his boss around 6.45am and is off to a conference for the week. He's staying at a hotel near/at the venue for today and tomorrow because of the "wining and dining" that's happening and the venue is about 30kms away, which isn't far, but is when you put the traffic into the equation!

Aaron came in to our bed soon after Lyndon left and about 7.15am decided it was time to get up and tell the world about anything and everything! Sigh ... so of course Maddison was awake soon after! Little pets.

After lunch Maddison was sitting in a plastic toy container and Aaron pushed her and she toppled out face first onto the tiles ... very noisy and messy! Big tears, loud wails, lots of blood, a cut lip and a very fat lip! She's okay, but it didn't look that flash and then Aaron had the cheek to tell me to clean the floor because it was dirty! (Had a blood trail from when Maddison had run to me!)

Anyway she got her revenge later in the afternoon after she had a sleep. Grabbed his arm and popped one of his sunburn blisters. Owwwww ... that was a noisy affair too. After I sorted that out and had a good look decided I needed to take him to the Dr to get it checked in case he got an infection. Sigh ...

To cut a long story short ... the cleaner that was supposed to take Tess's place while she was away never contacted me but her cousin did! She was supposed to be here by 1.3opm today and arrived about 4.15pm! Got a bus and 2 taxis to get here??? Very strange. Anyway she did a good job and is fast at ironing :-) heehee. So because she was late and didn't leave till 7.30pm I couldn't go to the Dr's until then. We were at the Dr's for 2 hours!!!! It wasn't even busy, but by the time we got seen, had Aaron's arm cleaned and bandaged (thinks he's a real invalid now!) and waited for prescriptions, it was 9.40pm by the time we got home.

I had some play time today though :-) Been mucking about with the papers in the Child's Play kit from Kinda Sweet. I had made 10 ATC's and several cards and a book mark all from a piece of the Lollapalooza paper that I thought was in the kit but wasn't! (Duh!) Anyway got a LO finished today, will photograph that tomorrow, and in the mean time, here's the ATC's and cards etc. I made (not showing them all because some haven't made it to the recipient yet!).

If anyone wants to swap an ATC let me know :-) I have 8 left to swap :-)

Photos, Photos & More Photos!!!

Okay, I have culled my photos from 599 to 452. But there is probably more I could delete, but I don't want to. I just never know when I might need them!! heehee

So here's a snippet of what we saw & did (yeah - just a snippet only 29 photos! LOL)

On the drive there we past acres and acres of palm oil trees. This truck was loaded with the nuts from the palm trees. Next pic was a really nice stretch of straight road, big plantations each side. 3rd, 4th and 5th photos are from taken from this humongous bridge we crossed over and all we could see was palm plantations and water, and a few dwellings right on the banks of the river. (The water was filthy!)

The ferry took about half an hour to get to the island. Maddison amused herself for a bit of the trip playing with a little battery fan that Aaron picked up at the local market! Wish I got a photo of this monkey showing his teeth (they were terrible!). We were out on our balcony soon after we arrived watching the monkeys up on the roof of the other units and getting into the rubbish bins and he spotted us and climbed right up! I was a bit scared that he would bite and every time I opened the balcony door he would make a move towards it, close it and he'd sit back down. So we just had to wait until he moved back onto the edge of the balcony then we scampered back inside. The monkeys here are so ugly, there's nothing cute about them!

Late Friday afternoon we went to the beach. I put togs on Aaron because I knew he wouldn't be able to resist the water. I should have known that Maddison would do exactly what he did! Anyway just shrugged my shoulders and thought, oh well her clothes will wash! heehee
They had a great time. Maddison hadn't been to a beach before, so the taste was all new and exciting! The locals get such a shock at what she puts in her mouth, but I figured sand was pretty tame compared to her taking her shoes off and chewing them!

Sunset from Friday ... taken while we where having tea. This was just the start of the sunset photos! Also saw lots of geckos and it wasn't until I downloaded this photo to the computer that I realised this little fellow had a "new" tail. Most of the ones we saw weren't that big, maybe around 10cm, there was one near our door that would have been close to 20cm I reckon, but he was too quick for me to get a photo.

There were heaps of hornbills. Such funny looking birds. We saw a younger one, about the size of the adults but he had fuzzy feathers on the top of his head. heheee (like bed hair!)
Most of Saturday was spent on the beach. I wished I had made the kids wear their hats! They lasted about 4 minutes, so frustrating. Might have saved the sunburn a bit!!

Tea on Friday night ... and a pic of us taken on Saturday night. Did it on auto timer with the camera on the TV, so the kids are staring at the TV not the camera!
So that's it. Now I need to choose which photos to get printed for my mini album :-)
