Photo Catch up

Just a few photos of the kids from the last couple of days.
.
Aaron was building the "biggest train track in the world" while Samuel bounced about in the jolly jumper watching.

Then Maddison came along to entertain him :-)

Love this one - dribbles on his chin and mouth wide open staring up at Maddison :-)

Ohh big hugs :-)
Maddison is busy telling Samuel all about the hospital from the Thomas set.

Jump Jump Jump!
This morning Aaron's class started swimming at school. So I walked down to watch, take photos, laugh, and help the boys get dressed afterwards. :-)
.
Trying on his new goggles.
Playing with balls instead of getting in the pool!!

They were in the small pool for a while then the teacher said "okay - get out, grab a noodle and jump in the big pool". So that's exactly what Aaron did, except he threw the noodle in first then jumped in himself! The big pool at the shallow end would be up to nearly my shoulders, so you can imagine the spitting and swallowing of pool water that was going on. He gasped his way to the edge and I tried to tell him how to use the noodle ... thankfully the teacher came along and gave him a hand :-)
It sure was fun watching them, but I tell you though - by the time I had walked to school, sat by the pool for an hour and walked home again I was past the "glowing" stage!!! It was sooooo hot and there were no fans down by the pool unfortunately. Phew - you sweat in places you never though possible!!! It's nice being back in the air con :-)

Jessy's Friendly Challenge

Last month Jessy asked if anyone wanted to join her in a friendly challenge :-) So I put my hand up and she sent us this photo for inspiration. (Photo from the Lennoxx.)

.
I used this sketch from PageMaps - one of the August sketches.

And here's my take.

Some new papers and some really old ones too (that blue floral is Anna Griffin from way way back!!). Another LO done for our holiday album. :-) There's a story behind the bling ... Maddison had been playing at my desk and had stuck them all on some scrap paper (I was just a little bit cross!). Anyway when I discovered they matched the colours for this challenge I salvaged them!! (Thank goodness for glossy accents - that's what I used to stick them down.)

Here's the list of the other ladies participating in this challenge :-)

Thanks Jessy for a great challenge :-)

Woo Hoo

I was super excited to get the news I had been chosen as one of the Guest Artists for Darkroom Door. :-)
Last month Darkroom Door put out a Scrapbook Guest Artist call - they were looking for scrappers that could use their stamps & paper products for scrapbooking. :-) So I decided to give it a try and did what I have been meaning to do all year ... get out my stamps and use them on my LO's!!! :-) (Lots of fun ... don't know why I had been putting it off!!!)
.
Here's a few LO's I did - they all use Darkroom Door stamps, except for the Daffodil Farm LO and the heart on the New Camera LO.

Keep an eye on Darkroom Door's blog, because over the next few months there's going to be a feast of talent appearing there ... 16 guest artists! I can't wait to see what everyone does with Darkroom Door's products - I love their stamps! :-)
.
You can purchase their stamps and other products on their website, or if you live in Malaysia Scrap-n-Crop have quite a bit of Darkroom Door product here.

Scrap-it-Lah September Challenge

The challenge this month at Scrap-it-Lah is to scraplift a LO from one of the DT members. I decided to scraplift this LO (the first one) of Jessy's.
.
Okay - it's not quite the same ... I was a bit heavy handed with the mist hehee and I didn't have any vintage music sheets so left that out and put dew drops there instead. I used the dew drops instead of the pearl trim Jessy used as well. I have plenty of Scenic Route chipboard in my stash so that was easy. I think she may have had something else in amongst that as well - ribbon maybe. I wasn't sure so didn't do that.

Another LO done for our 2009 holiday album (wonder if I will get all those photos scrapped this year!!! Probably not!).
.
Fun challenge - and there's still time to join in! :-)

A few photos of my boys

Just a quick catch-up with happenings from this week.
.
On Wednesday Aaron had a Malaysian dress up day and the elementary school did a parade around the school in their costumes. He went to school on the bus and I walked down with Samuel shortly after.
.
The parade started at 8.50am, so they did some activities in the class before hand.

I couldn't follow the kids around because there is LOTS of stairs, so I waited in the courtyard with the pram ... love this picture - Aaron saw me and came running :-)
Waiting in line with some of his class mates.
After the parade we went back to his class and they got changed into their uniform. I took lots of photos, but when I was downloading them the computer had a seizure! So I lost a lot which was very disappointing. I did get this one though :-)
Thursday night this little guy sat in the highchair with a pillow behind him and watched us eat dinner :-)
This morning he had a bath in the big bath - he's outgrown the baby bath. He loves it. I put just over an inch of water in and lie him down and the squealing, kicking and splashing that goes on!! :-) So much fun!

This morning Aaron had a chat to Nana ... thought you might like to see what he was doing while talking to you Nana!
Eating donuts!
And just chilling at the table! haha
Other news ... on Thursday I finally got a new washing machine! YAY ... nearly 3 weeks without one! And the first couple of loads I did I kept going and checking it was actually working because it's so quiet! hehee

Use Your Stash Card Class Update

Thank you to the ladies who attended my "Use Your Stash" Card Class on Saturday at Scrap-n-Crop. I enjoyed it and I hope you did too and got something useful out of it! Good luck using your stash hehee :-)
.
Samuel was a little darling. I feed him before class started and then he was in the classroom with me for a bit in his bouncer. He filled his nappy and got a bit hot, but didn't complain at all :-) Then Val's Mum came and collected him and when I popped downstairs a bit later to check on him this is what I found :-)

Look at the little darlings all fast asleep :-) Val's kids (Bryant & Becks) were having a snooze too.
.
Oh he is such a good little guy ... I really do love him :-)
.
Anyway ... back to cards. I promised the ladies that I would post pictures of all the cards I made from two kits on my blog ... sorry for the card overload! I made 24 cards (well actually the kit had more patterned paper in it than we originally planned, so you could get this amount of cards from one kit plus an extra 3 pieces of cardstock). :-)
.
Here's the 7 cards I'd hoped to get through during class (we managed 5 and a bit I think!).

The four cards using pieces from one sheet of cardstock.

Other samples of the one piece of cardstock idea.
Same again.
Same again.
Two samples using the Tattered Florals die :-)
And the inside.
Doing a bit of dimension ...
5 flowers in total.
Tag Pockets - 3 samples
Showing the green tag
Blue tag
Pink tag
And various other cards made with left overs from the kit. These two were standard size cards (base cardstock measures 21x15 cm).
Small cards.

Small cards.
Standard size card - I do love circles. This is such an easy-peasy way to use up scraps :-)

And these remaining cards I made as samples during the class.

Love this one ... flying off into the sunset (or away from it ... whatever way you want!) :-)
So that's it. That would be enough wouldn't it! ;-)
