Real life around here ...

Some pictures taken over the last 10 days.

Samuel has learnt to open the dryer door and I often find him hiding inside!
Bit harder to get out though hehee
Last Sunday we made sandwiches for lunch using Aaron's "recipe" :-) I cut everything for them and they made their own.
Between 4 and 5pm every Tuesday to Friday usually finds us doing this ...

Maddison reading quietly by herself (or sometimes drawing).
Aaron doing his homework and Samuel sitting on my knee having cuddles! (He'd just woken up from a sleep.)
I think we finally have this homework "chore" sorted! It's taken a while. Roll on the day when I don't need to sit with him so he stays in his seat!! ;-)
.
I suppose it would be more real life if I had pictures of me sweating my way through a huge pile of ironing late at night in the 30deg heat wouldn't it! haha I think I'll pass on blogging those sort of pics!
.
Thanks for visiting.

Samuel

I have been meaning to take a photo of Samuel doing this for a while and now I am cross with myself that I haven't as the other kids were around 9months old when I took their photos! Anyway I have them now! :-)
.
For some reason they love the front loader washing machine! If the laundry door is open Samuel is in there like a shot! (hehee excuse the dribble on his chin!) :-)

Cheeky fella.
If you want to see what the other kids looked like around 9 months old doing the inspection of the washing machine check it out here.

Woo Hoo Wednesday

Where do the weeks go? I can't believe it's Wednesday already. Playing along with Janine my Woo hoos for today ...

#1 - biggest woo hoo is Lyndon bought me a Ferrari, yep, a Ferrari ........................... laptop! Did I have you going? It's very cool ... here's a pic of it. The start-up sound will probably get worn out as Aaron knows how to turn it on just so he can hear it!

#2 - Aaron's 3rd appointment with the ear specialist was successful last night! Yay Yay and Woo Hoo.

#3 - planning a trip to a scrapbook shop this coming weekend :-) Want to get an 8x8 album for my BOM (amongst other little bits and pieces!!)

#4 - Aaron's back at school this week :-)

#5 - Maddison is doing VERY well eating her solids :-)

That's about it really ... mind you it's only 10am so something else exciting could happen today I suppose! Like me getting a Nana Nap!! (that's the plan anyway once Aaron goes to school!)

Here's some pics of what Maddison got up to this morning. She's just over 9 months old, and I remember Aaron doing exactly the same thing ... so did some photo surfing and found some pics of him at the same age. Humm ... climate is definitely warmer over here!! Our laundry is outside here (on a tiny little balcony) and back in Akl it was inside!

Is it Morning Already?

This is so not fair ... bit of a late night last night. Lyndon left for NZ, Aziz picked him up about 6.30pm and after he had gone I finished feeding Maddison her solids then bathed the kids, read them a Thomas story while they scampered about Aaron's bed (waste of time reading if you ask me - but Aaron said to read when I stopped!). Then about 7.45pm put both of them to bed. (Yep ... wishful thinking!)

Maddison started screeching so I took her out and left Aaron with strict instructions NOT to get out of bed. To cut a long story short ... I tried 4 times to put Maddison to bed and gave up in disgust, put Aaron back to bed about 5 times and finally about 9.15pm Aaron was asleep so I feed Maddison again and she went down about 9.50pm.

Then the dishes ... arghhh ... that's one thing I do miss here ... a dishwasher! You can feel like you are on top of things with a dishwasher cause you can keep the bench clear!

So I got to bed around 11pm and Maddison mustn't be feeling just the thing (top teeth coming through and I have a feeling she has got whatever Aaron had last week) because she woke more than usual (how is that possible?) for feeds in the night. THEN at 5.55am she woke and I could tell by the chatting that she wasn't going to go back to bed after that feed easily, anyway I tried and while we were on the couch (in the dark) out comes Aaron. Maddison hears the door, jerks up and starts squealing at him and Aaron informs me it's "Play time". ARGHHHHHHH I want to go back to sleep! So here I am posting this while they are mucking about making a mess.

I will so definitely be having a nana nap when they have a sleep today ... hopefully for once I can get them down at the same time.

Oh yeah ... yesterday the technician for the washing machine was supposed to come just after 2pm. At 3.30pm they phoned and asked for directions (asking me for directions??). Arrived about 4pm and after a lot of mucking about listening to the spin cycle told me there was nothing wrong with it. Glad Lyndon had heard the noise so he spoke to them. Anyway they left and I have a number to ring when it does it again so they can hear it! Lets hope it doesn't blow up in the meantime.

Right better go organise some breakfast.

Bye for now (yawn!)

Good Bye Flat Stanley

Last night I finished typing up Flat Stanley's "Diary" complete with photos. So a couple of pages of "diary entries", and a couple of pages of guff and stuff about Malaysia (which I got from surfing on the net!), and about 2 hours later it was finished! Must say it was pretty boring reading! Poor Flat Stanley didn't get to do much with Aaron not being well. Anyway he's all packed up now in his envelope "suitcase" and is off to Buffalo in the States for a visit with another family with small kids, before heading back to his home in Illinois.

Maddison has had one sleep, Aaron is sleeping now, train track is all packed up and the dishes are still waiting for me! Cleaner comes soon, so better get my skates on as our bedroom is a pigsty! While I had my shower this morning Aaron was jumping on the bed and throwing pillows and cushions everywhere and Maddison got into the rubbish bin (nice!). I tell you nothing is safe around here unless it's locked up!!! I see the pile of towels I had folded up on the couch have been distributed throughout the bedroom as well. Sigh ... the little pets ... hopefully Maddison hasn't been sick on them!

Washing machine has developed a terrible whine in the spin cycle, so have rung and complained about that (machine is provided by owner of apartment). Don't want it to get any worse and the thing blow up on me!!! I said to the agent that I can't really do without a washing machine with 2 kids so if he could get back to me today it would be appreciated! Unfortunately I have discovered previously that Malaysian's watches seem to be a lot slower than mine!!

Guess what ... this afternoon I am going to write some Thank You's! Truly I am!! Lyndon is in the Philippines now, gets back Saturday evening, then on Tuesday flies to NZ for a few days then to Australia. So ... pressure is on. I must get them done before next Tuesday (save on postage you see - must have some Scot's blood in me somewhere!!!).

Bye 4 now
