Haircuts ...

Yesterday I took Aaron to get his haircut.  It was pretty painless, he is awesome at sitting in the chair patiently till it's done without much wriggling.

Samuel on the other hand is an entirely different story!  In the past we've always had it cut at the hairdressers and he sits on my knee and screams the entire time while I hold him down and sort of still!  His hair had gotten so long because I kept putting off the dreaded trip to get his hair cut.  Lyndon said - "why don't you just cut it like you used to do Aaron's".  So tonight that's what I did.

Now, a hairdresser I'm not ... I don't mind cutting paper, but hair is a bit more tricky   (can't patch it up with glue hehee).  I do the easy option and cut it so it's the same length all over.

Things started out pretty good.  Samuel was happy to be sitting on the high stool and being able to see himself in the mirror.

It went down hill very quickly from there!  He refuses to wear a cape, or towel to stop the hair getting on him and yet he hates the itch from the hair ... so things get pretty noisy!

He cheered up though once I'd showered him off and he had a bath.  Maddison said he looked cute with his hair short!  :-)

Here's Aaron at the same age sporting a slightly shorter number!  :-)  (His little face is much rounder than Samuel's.)

Ahhh life's tough when you are 2 and a half!  :-)

Happy Chinese New Year to you all.  We are off on holiday for the long weekend.  I will blog about it when we are back!

Thanks for visiting.

Last half of January

About time I got back on here and updated!  I have been taking pics and am doing okay with keeping up-to-date with my project life photo album (separate blog post to come on that).  So here's some pics of what's been happening since I last blogged.

We've been swimming.

Aaron likes doing handstands!
Watching sunsets.

Watching the storms and listening to massive booms and cracks of thunder and lightening.
Samuel has been playing Bob the Builder :-)
We have had the odd day where the sky has been a brilliant blue (with some clouds of course!).  Not often we see a brilliant blue sky!
Samuel's had fun in the playground.

I tried a new recipe (from Pinterest) (which came from this blog).  It's yum and Aaron even gave it the thumbs up!!
It's rained a lot!
Lyndon was in Finland last week - it was -10degs C.  (He was lucky he wasn't there the week before as it was -30degs C then!!)
More swimming :-)
Kids gobbling up their lunch (bacon and egg pie) and sculling their ice tea!  :-)
Samuel has decided Mr Potato Head's glasses are for him!

We've seen the sun rise.
Aaron earned his Pokemon cards back and I gave him some ATC pockets to store his cards in.  He thought that was pretty good!  :-)
Samuel has moved into the next size carseat which he loves :-)  (and so do I as he can't get his arms out of this one hehee).  He's also given up his dummy which is even more awesome.  :-)
He's been a pest when I've been watering the plants and likes to drink as much as he can!
We've had two lots of visitors this week and one slept on a fold out bed in Maddison's room.  When our friend went to bed she came out and said "where's Maddison"?  I found her under the spare bed fast asleep! She'd been into our friends suitcase under there oh so quietly and had gone to sleep!
Maddison's class have been learning about states of matter.  I went in to her class yesterday and did an experiment about liquids and solids :-)  (Lyndon found this YouTube video which we used.)
I mixed one up in class and the others I had mixed at home.  They had a container each and just loved puddling about with it!  :-)  Very messy business hehee

Our friend took Maddison and Samuel to the playground one afternoon.  They took their bikes down, but spent most of the time sliding down the skateboard ramp on their bottoms!
Today has been a public holiday here, so no school.  These little rascals set up shop in Maddison's bedroom doorway.  Was so fun to hear them playing!  Maddison charged RM1 for most things in her shop (pretend money).
Aaron was far more greedy and charged RM6,000 or more for the same items!  (Love Maddison waiting in line with her "shopping bag" hehee)
Samuel had a turn helping be shop keeper too.  He didn't worry about asking for money, he kept saying "Hi, how you today"?  :-)

So that's been us the last few weeks - a very condensed version!  We can't wait for Daddy to get home tomorrow.  It's been a long two weeks.

Thanks for visiting.

Aaron @ Track & Field

Last Friday Aaron's grade had track and field in the morning (man it was hot!).  I volunteered to help out and unfortunately I didn't realise that because of that I wouldn't get to see him do certain events.  So I asked a friend to take pics for me and she did awesome!  :-)

His first event was track - I can't remember the length of this race, but he came 2nd and was so excited!

Here he is crossing the finish line :-)  Yahoooo!!

With his ribbon
Running the relay race.

After they had finished the track they did the field events ... shot put, long jump and high jump.  He did high jump first and I only caught him out the corner of my eye for one jump.

Long jump.
And finally shot put which is where I was stationed.  Bit of a foul here buddy - way over the line!!  hahaa  This was the only picture I took of him and I didn't even realise he'd stepped over the line till I was looking at the photos when I downloaded them that afternoon!

Very thankful for friends that take great pics of my kids when I'm not able to be there to see them. :-)

Thanks for visiting.

Back to Routine ...

Monday the kids started back at school.  3 weeks holiday sure seemed to go fast!!
I took this photo before we left the lift lobby ... Samuel excited, Maddison happy watching Samuel, and Aaron grumpy!  (mainly because I wouldn't let him wear his soccer boots to school!)  Ahhh ... life around here at the moment :-)

Lyndon bought me a "smart phone" in the weekend ... and I know it's much smarter than me!  But I am trying to learn how to use it.  I am LOVING the camera though!  I even know how to download them to the computer now (hehee) ;-)

So the pic above and this one of the kids getting on the bus were taken with my new phone.
Samuel also started at a new pre-school/child care centre.  He was so happy with the car that he jumped in, waved and said "bye Mummy"!  No tears, clingy-ness or anything (which is amazing for him at the moment!).  I waved back and said bye, blew him a kiss and walked half way to the gate and stood and watched.  He did a small circuit with the car, leant out the window and blew me a kiss, waved again and said "Bye Mummy"!  So I took that to mean I am obviously in his way so leave!  hahaa :-)
I left and went and did a grocery stock up at Tesco ... (took me nearly an hour to put all that away!!)

Had to share a couple of these pics.  Monday afternoon Samuel and I were waiting for Aaron and Maddison to come home on the bus.  Samuel had a little ball he was playing with and he kicked it (accidentally on purpose I think!) into the pond.  Then he fell in!  I didn't get a pic of that as I leapt up to make sure he was okay (he was!).
He was soaked to his armpits!  But that didn't stop him - it then became a game to throw the ball in and climb in the water and fetch it!!

Yet another change of clothes for the little darling.  :-)

Beam Me Up ...

This morning we were up and away at 9am which is early for us on a Saturday!  We went and checked out the Science Centre as we hadn't been there for a while and they had a Star Trek exhibition on.

Lots of technology to play with ...
Aaron making a vortex.
A sealed maze that had ping pong balls and you opened little flaps around the sides to move the ball.  Kinda like compressed air I think.
 Studying atoms.
Maddison making a robot move.

Aaron's favourite ... a giant marble run.
Couldn't turn my back for a second though, because Samuel was off under the bars right in the middle of it trying to get a ball that had fallen out!!
You sat on these seats and pulled yourself up ... each seat had a different pulley ratios.  Maddison's was the easiest to pull up!
Upstairs there was the Star Trek exhibition.  We couldn't take photos inside.
But they took photos of us in three different places and we could purchase at the end for a generous fee!!  Here's one of us at the transporter deck :-)

After that the kids played in the playgrounds and we checked out other activities.

Feeding the dolphin foam balls :-)
Hi from the Mushroom house.
Helping the skeleton ride a bike :-)
Samuel thought this crane was wonderful :-)
Run like a hamster!
I could just see this happening!  Good job she thought it was funny!  :-)
It wasn't too hot outside when we finished so we went down to the outdoor playground.  It was pretty dirty and wet though.  Samuel got soaked.

The swings were connected by wire at the top, so when Lyndon went back, Maddison went forward.

So that concludes our holiday adventures!  Back to school on Monday for the kids.

Thanks for visiting.
