Samuel turns 1

On Friday Samuel turned 1! I still can't believe how fast the year has gone. It only seems like a month or so ago that he arrived!
.
Our lovely helper arrived earlier than she usually does and so he got to open his first present (well actually he watched while Aaron & Maddison opened it!) :-)

After the other 2 kids were off at school he opened his present from Nana & Grandad :-) He was pretty taken with that. Hasn't learned how to push the driver to make the sound yet though!
And a present from some cousins :-)
Oh look there's a hole here just the right size for my finger!
When Maddison got home from school she "helped" me bake the cakes I needed for Samuel's birthday cake.
Then Samuel watched his presents being opened from his brother and sister :-)
Tigger got a big kiss ;-)
The matching outfit wasn't on purpose! ;-)
After Tigger got taken off him from Maddison he discovered the delights of wrapping paper :-)
Today we put his cake together.
I had track to use for the train but I couldn't get it to fit on the cake board, so we just made do without it.
Now ... who's birthday did you say it was?

That's right ... it's MY present hehee :-)
Thanks, I'll have that ball.
I need to do a taste test!
Hummm ... didn't think much of that :-)
Daddy helped put the track together. Samuel has to taste everything! Here he's chewing on a wooden tree trunk!
Maddison took the ball (boulder) off him and he wasn't happy with that so just had to get it again! :-)
In the afternoon we had some friends come over for afternoon tea and he got some more presents. A soft toy car.
Some lovely books.
This drum got a very big grin! He thought it was great!
He also got a "guitar" which he's using as a phone here heheee (and I confess to taking the batteries out of the guitar after 5 minutes because it is SO loud!). I think I will limit the time the batteries are in that toy for 10 minutes a day and while the other 2 kids are at school hehehee
Afternoon tea ...
Whoops - forgot to put the mini muffins out!
Singing Happy Birthday.
Blowing out the candle.
Oh dear chocolate icing on his fingers!
Giving it a very close inspection.
Doing the taste test!
The piece of cake I gave him didn't have any icing on it so I gave him a little bit on a spoon! :-)
He had a great day today but was sooooo tired he was in bed and asleep before 6.40pm :-) Hope he sleeps till after 6am!

Thanks for visiting.

On the move ...

Last Wednesday Samuel took his first steps. He's been walking around furniture for a while and walking holding our hands and pushing the little trolley, but last Wednesday was the first time he took steps on his own :-) He did 3 between the couch and the coffee table. The look on his face was gorgeous - he looked so proud of himself!!!
.
Thursday he took a few more - the most at one time was probably about 9 and by Friday he felt he was ready to tackle anything! Even with a big balloon in his hand :-)

Look out here I come :-)

This week he discovered a lemon lime & bitters bottle in the rubbish and thought he needed to swig on the dregs!
He's tried big fat noodles (or worms as the kids call them).
Maddison put her princess headband on him one night after bathtime hehee
He likes banana too ...
Especially when you can smear it EVERYWHERE!
This is his latest cheeky "I am so smart" look! (excuse the banana up his nose hehee)
See ... I told you it was his new look! This morning after breakfast he gave a big squeal and I looked up to see him sitting nice as you like on the chest that the kids computer is sitting on! Sigh ... another climber!
I had a coffee group this morning with some of the mum's from Aaron's class and another little girl was there (she's about 3 months older than Samuel). He was showing off because he's walking and she's not and he kept coming back to her, grabbing her head and giving her a kiss. Little monkey.
The next thing we need to teach him is how to climb down off things! He's very good at climbing up (especially on Maddison's bed), but he hasn't worked out how to get down by himself yet, so just bellows when he's had enough!
.
Okay off to do some baking ready for his 1st birthday party at the end of the week. Thanks for visiting. :-)

National Scrapbook Day

Saturday was National Scrapbook day. I didn't get a lot done, but after the kids were in bed I did manage to do 2 quick LO's. Trying so hard to finish off that stack of 2009 holiday photos! :-)
.
Using up some felt alphas :-) and bits and pieces from the March Studio Calico kits. I do like those fabrips. I wonder if you can buy them separately. Love that Prima felt Devine stem too.

This LO uses patterned papers from the Studio Calico March kits I got. Threw in some tissue tape for a bit of interest too! Trying to embellish without bulk actually. My 2 albums are bulging and I am hoping to fit the holiday into 2! We shall see. I haven't done any journalling yet ... not sure if I will or not either! ;-)

Wonder if your day was more productive scrapping wise than me!? :-)

Mothers Day 2011

Happy Mothers Day to all you Mothers out there :-) Hope you had a lovely day.
.
I had a Mothers day ... can't say it was all "happy" though, but there were several good parts to the day so I suppose I better focus on those bits! ha
.
Lyndon took some pics of me and the kids just before we had lunch ... at least there was 1 good one of us all.
The rest of them Maddison had her eyes crossed! WHY does she do that? It's so annoying.
Then I got some pics of each of the kids with the gift they made me :-) Aaron decorated the bag and made me a heart pillow. He even did some of the stitching himself! He told me "it was really hard, but it was so easy that he did it!" (I was giggling away to myself when he was telling me that!)
Maddison gave me a beaded heart and a card.
Samuel gave my ear a pull and a snot trail! Whoopsie I didn't realise he needed his nose wiped!
Lyndon did some doodling on a scrap of card he must have found in my messy scrap space :-)
The kids wrote their names. :-) Love how Maddison writes hers hehee
Here's my gifts! VERY spoilt ... and no the bag Lyndon got me wasn't true to label (phew hehee)!
He was a Darling and got me a little camera - a Canon PowerShot S95. It's very nice! Fits in my handbag just great. I won't be giving up my DSLR though! :-) It replaces the little pink one I had which has something wrong with it - takes 2-3 photos and the battery goes flat! It's very frustrating!
.
Hope you have a great week ahead - and thanks for visiting.
