Kids

My Mum asked me to take some casual "portrait" shots of Aaron & Maddison, so this afternoon I took them down to the playground in the drizzly rain and tried to get some pics! I got the usual goofy silly ones ...

I'll just show you two of each ... believe me there were a LOT more than that hehee
.
But I did get a couple of good ones of each of them. Hopefully they will be what Mum wants!

I also took Samuel back to the Dr straight after lunch. His cough isn't much better :( Lyndon is off to Thailand tonight for work and the Dr's close at 1pm today, so I wanted to get him checked, not just for his sake, but also for my peace of mind! His cough seems to get worse at night, so the Dr suggested he spend some time on the nebulizer. He did really well for 20 minutes, just sat on my knee playing with a toy, but then he started grizzling and fighting with the mask. So I popped his dummy in his mouth (figured he'd be breathing up enough stuff through his nose!) and he just sat there quiet again :-) I took a couple of pics with my phone.

He has had a very short sleep (less than an hour) and is up again. So hoping that it hasn't "wired" him too much that he won't sleep tonight!

"White Vintage"

Today I did a class at Scrappingville with Julie Van Oosten from Collections - the class was a tri-fold frame with lots of different techniques and textures :-)
.
I was late getting there as I took Samuel to the Dr's and was first in the queue and then waited an HOUR for the Dr to arrive!!! So completely threw my well organised schedule out the window. Never mind - I got 80% of my frame finished there (after everyone else had packed up!) and then finished the rest off at home.
.
Here's a pic of me and Julie.
And I won the most awesome prize just by answering a question correctly hehee :-) A little Auzzie bag filled with Collections goodies. I am going to have fun with those! :-) Maddison has already got her eye on the bag!

Here's my frames in the final stages at the class. Julie had these really cool clips/clamps which held things in place while the glue set. Think I might have to get myself some!

And my finished piece at home.
And of course the close ups ...
Love the "damask" technique we did on the frame - it's a technique I am positive I will be using again and again.

I haven't made anything like this for ages ... I used to do a fair bit before we moved to KL. Nowadays I seem to be scrapping, mini albums or cards! So was a nice change to do something different again.

This'n That

I've been busy scrapping & crafting but I can't show you anything yet sorry. A couple of LO's I've done for our holiday album and there's too many people in them to blur! So far our holiday albums (2 and I sure hope they will all fit ... I am having my doubts!) have 81 LO's in them!!! I still have another month and a bit to scrap!
.
I've been playing with my goodies from Darkroom Door :-) :-) :-) And I see she's just released some more new background and photo stamps! There is one in amongst that new lot that I really must have! ;-) (Can you guess Mum??) ;-)
.
Maddison is better ... she went to school yesterday and was super excited to be back (and I was super excited to leave her there hehee)! She's got the rest of the week off (Deepavali celebrations). This morning she came with me to the playground so I could photograph the ATC's I've made for the Darkroom Door November ATC Swap.

Here's a sneak! Really pleased how they turned out and I have very inky fingers to show for it!! :-)
I mentioned that Samuel cut his first tooth on Saturday night ... well he cut his second one on Sunday night!!!!!!!!! He's been a bit miserable with them, and the dribble! Oh my ... I think I need to get waterproof backed bibs! haha He had a Dr appointment on Tuesday to get his next lot of vaccinations and he's 8.5kgs at 5 1/2 months. The Dr told me he was the size of a 9 month old baby hehee :-) He asked me what I was feeding him ... ummm just breast milk! :-) Another couple of weeks and I'll start introducing him to solids ... he's watching us VERY closely whenever we are eating - his little eyes tracking back and forth as we put food in our mouths ... makes you feel kind of guilty! :-)
.
Lyndon is on his way back from Singapore tonight, although his plane has been delayed! But I think he's on his way now. Thrilled he's going to be home for a public holiday instead of away for work! Especially since I am going here tomorrow morning!! :-) Looking forward to that and no doubt I'll have some pics to post afterwards! Hopefully the kids will behave for him! Aaron has already told me what he wants to do with Daddy ... build another "world's biggest train track", read his new school library book, play computer games, and play with his Ben 10 playing cards! Sounds like Daddy is going to be busy doesn't it!
.
Right I am off to bed ... didn't get much sleep last night. Samuel decided he wanted to be awake from 11.30 till nearly 2am! YAWN ... my eyes felt like grit this morning.

ATC Swap

I participated in Darkroom Door's September "Anything Goes #2" ATC swap. I made a couple of sets ...

And I got these beauties back in return :-)

I completely missed out on October's swap, bother it! But I am definitely going to join in for the November one which is using the "Seaside Collection" :-)
.
It's very exciting when these little works of art arrive in your mail box :-) If you want to join in see here for details.

Please don't bite ...

That's what you hear me asking Samuel now! He's been teething (for a while!) and FINALLY it came through his gum on Sunday morning, just a tiny little razor sharp edge and today all the top is through.
.
He gave me the "thumbs up" to take some pics :-) heheee

He keeps poking his tongue in and out - he can obviously feel that little tooth :-) so funny!
Maddison is home from school again. Her cough got a lot worse on Saturday, so off to the Drs with her! She's now on antibiotics. Thursday & Friday are school holidays for her, so no doubt she'll be ready to go back on Thursday! (Murphy's law!).

Aaron is refusing big time to let me cut his hair ... I am blaming everyone who commented on his 5th birthday post about his hair at age 1 !!!! ;-) (just kidding) hehee Thankfully he's letting me trim around his ears as I can't stand it long over his ears! Anyway in the weekend I put some of Lyndon's hair stuff in it ... he wasn't too keen on it though and kept patting it down ;-) So every time I walked past I pushed it back up heheee (so annoying of me!)
He wouldn't look at the camera sorry, but I thought he looked pretty cool. I might have to tell him he either lets me do that or I cut it all! hahaa
Our cheapo Tesco vacuum cleaner blew up after a month or so, and we couldn't find the warranty(typical), so Lyndon and Aaron pulled it to bits on Saturday just because they could and threw out what they didn't want ... and what do you know ... later that night Lyndon found the warranty! hahaa Good job it was a cheap one!
.
I can't believe it's November today ... where did the last 10 months go? Seriously ... this year has just flown past.
