Counting down ...

Well actually there are several things I am counting down till ;-)
.
But I just realised I hadn't blogged that I am attending this ... in 8 more days to be exact! :-)

I can only attend the Saturday class, but I am looking forward to it :-) For details check it out at Scrap-n-Crop's blog here or to book go here.
.
I have done a class with Irene before last year in April (see here for what I made) and really enjoyed it. Learnt lots of different techniques and I just know that this time it will be the same. Can't wait.

What I see ... and what I hear ...

Today I stood in the playground and watched Aaron running around getting hot and sweaty and I thought I'd take some pics of what I see ...
.
Here's looking straight ahead. It's the left side of the big new complex that is being built beside us (the right side is a lot taller).
Right ... Aaron climbing all around the concrete ledges.
Left ... more construction in the distance.
Behind ... the playground.
Up ... that's the top of our condo.
And down ... I don't think I need to explain what that is! LOL (29 weeks today.)
.
What I can't see ... my feet! ;-) heheee
.
And here's some things I have heard from the kidlets the last couple of days ...
.
Aaron to Maddison
"If you don't stop right now, you'll go to your room" (no guess as to who he's heard saying that!)
.
Maddison to me after waking this morning
She came running out of her room saying
"Mum, Mummy, come and see scary monster in my bedroom"
I followed (not that I had a choice as she had me by the hand!) and she had emptied out all the soft toys from their bin and a raccoon hat was amongst it ... the hat was the scary monster heheee
.
Aaron to me while lying in bed last night
"Will the Dr be able to fix my big head?"
How does one answer a question like that??? LOL
.
Aaron to Maddison last night after their bath
"Maddison if you are good I'll buy you a dinosaur hotwheels track - won't that be nice!"
Yeah right Aaron!
.
Aaron to me this morning
"Look Mummy I found an ant - it's nice, it's crawling up my arm!"
Five minutes later ... Me to Aaron
"Aaron what exactly are you doing in there?"
Aaron to Me
"I'm putting the ant in the fridge Mummy, so it can eat some food, cause it's hungry!!"
I am just left shaking my head!!

2 x Double LO's

I did a couple of double LO's yesterday for our holiday album. :-) Funny thing ... I used to (and must confess sometimes I still do, but I do think a bit harder about it now!) buy paper I liked and would usually get two sheets, without even knowing what I would use it for. It was a "just because" purchase - know what I mean? ;-)
.
Anyway when I was thinking about what papers to use for this '1st few days' LO I found this paper ... and the reason I bought it was because I liked the colours, flowers & swirls on it. But what do you know ... I didn't even use that side of the paper! (I have a feeling that might happen a bit more when I am doing this album heheee)

I journaled with mini alpha stickers ... man that takes absolute ages!! (does use up the sticker stash though!) :-)

Hummm that is a bright blue isn't it (by the way it goes nicely with broken china distress ink!!) And the Cosmo Cricket strips of paper are on straight ... I just didn't take the photo straight so when I cropped it it looks crooked - sorry.

So far I have done 28 pages for this album ... and when you look at my stack of photos still you wouldn't even think I had started! And I have been culling photos as I go! Some of the photos I got printed I want to use for the kids individual albums, so I won't scrap them for now. I want to prioritise the actual holiday album itself.
.
I have a couple of aims/challenges for myself for this holiday album ...
.
  1. To try and complete before baby #3 arrives (hummm is that wishful thinking??) ;-)
  2. To use only what stash I have (that includes alpha stickers do you hear Rachel!).
I have a few sets of alpha stamps and I am pretty sure I have a brand new die cut alpha set that I can run through my cuttlebug ... so there's no excuse right! No doubt after another 30 odd pages I will be muttering to myself about setting such a stipulation! hehee
.
Have also decided to try and keep track of how many LO's I have done so far this year & will do before the baby comes ... not sure how much I will get done after he/she arrives! So I am going to put up a tally in my right column just for interest. :-)

Scrap-it-Lah March Challenge

Scrap-it-Lah's challenge for March is easy :-) Scrap some photos you have taken during your holidays! My biggest challenge was deciding which photos to scrap! hehehee
.
I had some paper scraps left over from Scrap-n-Crop's last art retreat with Iris, so decided to use them with these pics taken of Henry the Tuatara and his babies at the Southland Museum.

Scrap-it-Lah have two RAKS this month - one for the challenge and one for their refurbished blog :-) They have a blinkie (you can check it out on the right), so check out their blog for details on how to win. :-)
