Left home Saturday morning, arrived at Lumut in time for lunch then caught the ferry to the Island around 1.45pm.
Aaron's getting into photography too using Grandma's camera (I've got one of his photos further down the blog ... you will see he needs a little bit of practice heheee).
Arrived at the jetty of Pangkor Island's Beach Resort.
This is the block we stayed in. :-)
The afternoon we arrived we did a little bit of exploring.
Aaron tried to climb the palm trees.
Really enjoyed the mini surf.
Had their float rings on when they went out deep in the sea ... thought they were pretty cool.
Maddison's yelling because she thought I was going to take the ball away! (I was keeping the ring steady because the swell tended to tip her over a bit!).
New beach toys were a hit! Aaron's boat "walked" for miles up and down the beach!
BIG crabs!
I knew crabs walked (or scuttled) sideways, but I didn't realise they got up high on their claws and walked. Was really funny watching them and boys are they fast!Sandcastles with Grandma ... Maddison was sleeping that's why they are still in one piece! (She would just smash them with her spade lol)
Took a taxi on Sunday afternoon and had a tour of the island. Think there's about 23km of road (or something like that). Took 2 hours and we stopped at a few places. This is the town centre.
Lots of interesting smells! (I walked past here very quickly (dried fish) ... Mum took this photo) :-)
Pretty typical street scene.
The Fu Ling Kong temple - a Taoist temple.
This temple has a mini Great Wall of China at the back of it.
One of the beaches we past we stopped to take photos and saw this Monkey and her baby.
Here's Aaron's photography skill! Why do little cameras have the lens off to the left so little hands find it hard to hold the camera without putting their finger or thumb over it???
While Aaron was taking random photos of the pool and his finger one day at lunch Maddison was slurping very elegantly on a drink :-)
So good!
One of the sunsets. Didn't think they were as pretty this time as in September. Still they were nice.
There were peacocks there and some baby chicks. Aaron calls them a "keycock"!!!!
Couldn't resist showing this photo of the male "keycocks" butt!
One day several monkeys found a room door open, so they had a field day with the sugar sachets. Would have given them a great sugar rush!!!
Also swum in the pool a few times. Maddison was very protective of her beach ball.
Aaron had fun with his water wings on.
Another sunset pic.
Maddison enjoying chicken satay's at lunch by the pool one day! Not just one mind you, two at once!!!
The sign on the door says don't feed the monkeys LOL ... here's our two monkeys enjoying an icecream.
Lyndon ordered a couple of these coconut drinks one evening. Can't say I was that fussed with it, but had a sip so I can say I've tried it!! :-)
Typical family photo on the beach the day we left (Wednesday). Only Lyndon and I looking at the camera!
Little goofs :-)
Playing silly billy's with Grandma while she was trying to get a photo.
Back on the mainland again and VERY HOT AND SWEETY (as Aaron says) while waiting for Daddy to bring the car back to get us and the luggage. The kids were well and truly over it.
Water ways in the middle of the rice fields.
And a typical Merc truck over here ... real special they are. Have the metal bonnet and then a wooden roof and no doors :-)
.
Aaron was back at school yesterday :-) He's in a different class room with a different teacher and a few different kids, but he enjoyed it all. Found out that a little boy that lives in our condo he plays with sometimes at the playground and pool is in his class this year, so I can see there will be high jinks and mischief happening between the two of them.
.
Mum and I think we will go to the butterfly park this afternoon while Aaron's at school. Will see what sort of photos I can get with my new camera this time :-)

Gosh, what a lot of photos! You'll have to do a mini album with those - you got some great shots. Love all the ones of the kids swimming, and the lovely family picture. I'm glad you had such a great time, and even nicer that your Mum was there too.
Welcome back Rachel ... Fantastic photos ... the sunsets are amazing ... you are so lucky to be having these experiences.
Welcome back Rachel. Sounds like a fantastic holiday that ended too soon. Enjoyed your photos and will be in touch soon. Take care.
