Scrap-n-Crop's Project Scrap Away Challenge #3

Check it out ... it's a 70's theme! And since I'm a 70's chick I guess I can do this! Not so sure that I wore bell-bottoms though!

Woo Hoo

Janine's Woo Hoo Wednesday again ... where do the days disappear to?? So my woo hoo's are ...

1. Made it to the 3rd round of Scrap-n-Crop's Project Scrap Away :-0 :-)
2. 3rd Challenge comes out around midnight our time tonight
3. Maddison's measles spots have disappeared ... hopefully by the end of this week we will be able to show ourselves in public again!
4. Maddison's cut another tooth - number 7. (fingers crossed for a less interrupted sleep tonight!)
5. Aaron saying "Thank you, you're welcome" in the same sentence (this is just so funny when you hear him say it ... cracks me up every time!).
6. He also says to Maddison "Hello Darling, how you?" (ohhhhh)
7. 6 more sleeps till Lyndon's back (that seems like ages!)
8. I have done other scrapping tonight which isn't related to Project Scrap Away ... a nice feeling actually
9. The kids had such fun today with Aaron's Thomas pop-up play tent. (It's been packed away for about 6 months, so was like a brand new toy again!)
10. I got happy mail this week ... a RAK from The Sketch Book - their first Friday night challenge I was one of the first to upload my LO, so got some very neat little journalling tags.
11. Oh yeah ... I have won some other stuff too :-) I won a prize (3 of us won 1st prize!!) for the monthly Design Team Challenge at Scrap-n-Crop for my Mothers & Daughters LO.
12. Aunty "Iwene" is coming on Saturday to "play" - we are really looking forward to that.

Talking about Aunty Irene ... must tell you what Aaron said about her the other day. He was rummaging through his toy box and found a McDonalds toy he got with a happy meal she had bought him. He pulls it out and holds it up real high and says "WOW Aunty Iwene's special toy Aaron". :-) hee hee

Scrap-n-Crop Project Scrap Away

Here's my LO for the 2nd Challenge ... I made it to the 3rd round :-) You can check out the other talent here ... the one that won was the shopping bag LO. So cool.

Hummm wonder what the next challenge will be!!

Journalling says:

Wow … what an interesting kit for Scrap-n-Crop’s Project Scrap Away Challenge #2. So many interesting textures and colours, a huge variety of fonts and embellishments and a bit of ‘cute’ thrown in as well.

The challenge was to create a LO using only “Scraps or Rubbish” found around your household, the only scrapbook supplies allowed were cardstock for the base and photos. (They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure don’t they!)

For this layout I’ve used alphas from Malaysia Tatler, mesh from bag of potatoes, metal cutting strip from Glad Bake box, pull tags and strip from drink cans, the flowers were all hand cut and created from plastic cups, food packaging, drink cans, tags and labels, ‘tuft’ off mesh vege bag and milk carton seals. The teddy is from the ‘Heinz’ collection and coffee cup from the ‘Dunkin’ Donuts’ collection.

Phew ... finished

Layout for Challenge #2 Scrap-n-Crop's Project Scrap Away. With no help at all from Aaron! He was more a hindrance than anything. Every time I walked away from my desk he'd dash up to it and start picking things off!! Little brat. Any way I got it finished and in on time and just discovered the 'twist' ... the contestants are the judges for this round!

So guess what I am going to be doing now! Yep ... checking out the rubbish talent. (haa haa)

Other news ... discovered Maddison has tooth #4 on the bottom, so that's 7 teeth all up. No wonder the last 2 nights she's been grizzling at 3 and 4 am!!!

Okay ... I am having an early night tonight ... last night was far too late finishing off my LO.

A Few Photos

Haven't posted any pics of the kids for a couple of days ... so here's some for your viewing pleasure! (ha haa)

Here they are helping me search for rubbish for my LO for the Scrap-n-Crop competition!! (Snort ... not! The rubbish bin had been cleaned and I was thinking of using a pic of them on my LO, but changed my mind cause you can't see the bin properly. Also you aren't suppose to recognise the kids, but Maddison has fat wee ankles so it's a bit of a give away!!) :-)

You know you are really are scrapbook crazy when you encourage your son to read a book just so you can take a photo of him reading it because you have the PERFECT paper for the LO!! A couple of years ago I bought 1 piece of patterned paper that had Dr Seuss's Green Eggs & Ham picture on it. There weren't many sheets there, so I thought yep I'll use that one day. So the last few weeks I have been reading it to Aaron and he's even picking it himself and getting Lyndon to read it to him (hee hee). Anyway ... tonight after their bath he trots into the bedroom with the potty and selects a couple of books and sits down to read. Obviously going to be a long drawn out affair, so I fed Maddison and put her to bed and he's picked out a few more books and still sitting on potty reading (could hardly believe it!). Then he decides he's not in the right place, so carts potty out to the edge of the lounge and reads Horton Hatches an Egg. And when that book is finished he brings Green Eggs and Ham and the potty out to the kitchen where I am doing the dishes and parks himself down on the mat at my feet! So of course I just couldn't resist, I had to take photos and yes I am going to scrap them on that special piece of paper! :-) Even though I was thinking of having him clothed and sitting on the couch, but he picked the time and place to read the book, it wasn't set up by me! (Honest!) :-)

Today has been interesting! Lyndon left about 8.45am for the airport - he's off to Japan - back on Tuesday 10th. And because Maddison has the measles we are stuck at home, so felt really strange not going to "Uncle Rowberts" this morning! Aaron asked me several times while he was having breakfast about going in the car to Uncle Rowberts! (Breakfast was a very long drawn out affair ... 2 and a half hours of mucking about not chewing, just filling his cheeks!)

Aaron's had the trots for a couple of days, but pleased to report that seems to have finished today. Phew, thankfully.

Maddison had a really good sleep this morning, she went down about 9.45am and slept till 1.15pm. Refused to have a sleep this afternoon though. Oh well Aaron did, he had an hour an a half so that was good.

Lyndon has txt me tonight to say he'd arrived in Japan and was on a bus which supposedly took 88 minutes to reach his destination, but think it took a lot longer than that.

Okay, I am off to have a look and play with my rubbish LO then to bed.
