Some LO's for Scrappin Studio

I was thrilled with the kits from Scrappin Studio this month! :-) Mind you I haven't been disappointed yet with them as they are filled with beautiful things. The kits arrived Tuesday afternoon and yesterday I turned my back on the ironing pile (which was easy to do heheee) and made time to play! :-)

'Love You More' LO uses papers, stamp and buttons from the Montmarte kit and the polka dot vellum behind the photo is from the Versailles kit. I used Tim Holtz's mini hearts movers andshapers Sizzix die to cut the hearts. I kept this LO really simple (like I usually do I suppose) because the paper was so beautiful I felt if I added more things I was taking away from it. (Does anyone else feel like that? I find beautiful papers harder to use than plain ones actually! hehee)

'Helping Hands' uses mostly things from the City of Lights kit except the yellow and green paper tapes from Montmarte kit and the title is stamped using the alpha stamps from last months kit. Love those bike stamps - so cute. :-)

'Our Little Princess' Layout & Some Cards

Hi there, I'm back with another LO using Scrappin Studio's February main kit "Daydream Believer" and add-on kit "Pleasant Valley".

Love the Mistables Pinked Trim in the main kit ... I used Tattered Angels glimmer mist Cherub Pink and Creme de Chocolat on them. And did you notice the sewing machine stitching?!! :-)

This cluster of flowers I actually cut out from the background paper (behind the photo) and mounted it with foam tape for dimension.
Another thing I love about these kits is the amount of alphas included :-) So many to choose from! These ones are like scrabble tiles, but I overlapped them all (mainly because Princess didn't fit into the space otherwise!).

This piece of 'Dear Lizzy" paper is from her new collection Neapolitan. I've used lots of pieces from this one page on the LO above and the cards below. (This piece is in the add-on kit "Pleasant Valley"). :-)

I also made a couple of quick cards - using everything from the kits.

1st of December

Seriously this year has just gone so fast! I can hardly take it in that it's December already. So here's what's been happening around here the last 10 days or so.

Aunty R ... you asked about Maddison's outfit - it's a little dress and I have no idea where it came from as it's a hand-me-down :-) (I did a clothes swap for little girls clothes and got some bigger girl clothes back which was awesome and this dress was among them. It's her favourite!)

Aaron has had his eyes tested ... all in perfect working order!

Samuel has been watching Bob the Builder on my laptop with some SERIOUS concentration going on! Look at his hands heheee :-) He does make me laugh with his funny little manners and ways. (Excuse the fact he has no pants on! This was his third change of clothes for the day and I couldn't be bothered with pants anymore!)

Aaron's teacher is having a birthday next week and the kids have all been asked to make a birthday card for her to go in with the gift. She loves lions and calls her class the "lovable lions"! So I dug in my stamp collection and found this little beauty. Sorry it's sideways.
The last week Aaron has been asking me to do his hair spiky. But it doesn't stay like that, so tonight I surprised him with some hair gel! He thinks he's the cats meow now!!
And of course Maddison wanted her hair special as well! (didn't matter that they were heading straight to bed hehee). So I asked her if she wanted a french roll like mine. "That would be great thank you Mummy"!! :-)
As you know from my previous post I am going to do (and determined to complete) a December Daily album this year. So these next two pictures are for the 1st of December. :-) One chocolate advent calender doesn't work in this household! They have to have one each (good job the chocs are small is all I can say hehee) They didn't know about them and were pretty excited with the pictures I had chosen for them. (I am sorry I couldn't find a "Ba" one for Samuel though (Bob the Builder!) :-) He's very into Bob right now.)

When I went into the kitchen after story time with the kids I found some little feet poking out of my kitchen cupboard! hehehee
He loves parking his backside inside a cupboard and trying to shut the door! :-)

SIL 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop - Challenge No.6

I had some time today so decided I would try and complete a card for Scrap-it-Lah's 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop. This week Jessy has set the challenge of making a card using her handmade folded flower tutorial. Check out the challenge details here.

I got out all my circle punches (there are a few of them!) and ended up making 2 cards, one with scallop circles and one with plain circles.

.

I just used scraps from my patterned paper off cut stash :-) "I thought of you today" also uses Kaiser pearls, lace and a Printblocks stamp.

This card also has some trim on it and I have used a Tim Holtz die for the leaves.

Guest Artist at Darkroom Door

Earlier this week the LO's, cards and ATC's I created for my guest artist spot at Darkroom Door were featured on their blog. (You can see the posts here, here and here and also a bit of info on what products I used.)

I made a few cards and ATC's and also did 12 LO's. :-) I really hope I can keep on this roll of using stamps on my LO's now, because it's a great way to embellish without bulk I must say! ;-)

This one - 3 days old - is not my usual! But I had these Websters papers in my stash and finally just got brave and cut, cut, cut! I stamped images onto Vellum and I love the look. It didn't end up on Darkroom Doors blog - I think because the stamps weren't so obvious - there's 6 stamps, can you see them?

Christmas Cards ...

This afternoon Mum, Aunty Ruth and I went to Aaron's class for a card making session. It was VERY full on. Next time I offer to do something like this I am going to ask for a morning session! The afternoon was crazy! I actually asked the teacher if they had consumed all the cookies that we iced yesterday this morning ... seriously it was like most of them were on a high! hahaa

.

It was fun though and I think most of them enjoyed it. But since it was very full on and hands on for us as helpers, it wasn't till the end that Mum said to me ... we haven't taken any photos! Oh well ... we took some of their cards instead! :-)

Here's what we made ...

Stamped on tags like these ones below and we also made the ones I blogged about here.

The following cards I had already assembled and stamped and they coloured in the mice and Santa's face and added glitter where they wanted!

And I had done a couple like this, a blue and white one and a green & pink one (someone has the pink & green one in their bag though I think! so I haven't got a pic of that). I had cut the card to the right size and they had to punch the stars (or tree shape), stamp the wording, glue together and add the glitter.

TOTALLY overboard with the glitter and stamping hehehee Creativity is what I'll call it!! :-)

I've learnt a few things ... it took too long to do the circle and scallop circle punching for the tags - I should have already pre-done them as well, so all the kids had to do was stamping. I also knew they would use lots and lots of glitter glue so I had LOTS, but I didn't put it all out. The funny thing was though that Mum and Aunty Ruth decided they didn't need any more so now I have spare packets! LOL Oh well they will keep for another day I am sure! ;-) I also needed to have more stamp pads out and have one stamp per pad (saves cleaning the stamps!) OR have several pads the same colour only. Cleaning the stamps was quite time consuming actually, but they were really good at asking them to be cleaned before they changed ink colour (better than some adults I have taught actually hehee).

Would I do it again? Ummm .... yep I think so!

Would I be a teacher full time? NO definitely not! A class full of hyper kids for 2 hours was more than enough for me!!!
