Scrap-it-Lah June Challenge

This month's challenge at Scrap-it-Lah is to scrap about "Thing/s that you can't do without".
.
I actually spent AGES thinking about what I was going to scrap for this challenge. Mainly because the heading of SiL's blog post said 'Things you can't live without" so I had been focusing on that. To be honest even though I love my family to pieces and it would be absolutely horrible if I lost any one of them, life would still have to go on and I guess you'd find the strength to keep going somehow. (I am sure you all know what I mean.) The only thing I definitely couldn't live without would be my faith, and that isn't something I want to scrap about on here. This morning I decided to have another look at what the DT had done (you can see them here). And I saw the wording of the challenge was slightly different to the title of the blog post heheee ... so I decided to take a light hearted look at the challenge and scrap about my addiction to chocolate! hahaa
.
So here's my take.

And a close up - all different alphas - the chipboard ones have been sprayed with glimmer mist. Prima bling, Martha Stewart boarder punch and a VERY old Maya Road felt arrow. (Oh I do like using up some really old stuff!) :-)

I inked the edges of the white cardstock with Marigold Distress Ink as well. Oh and the patterned paper is from Studio Calico :-)
.
Thanks for visiting.

Look what I found!!

I could hardly believe my eyes!!!   I restrained myself though ... RM19.89 each ... that's about NZ$8.00!  I will save it for when I need emergency rations I think heheee
.
Not much happening this neck of the woods.  Lyndon has been in Thailand again - gets back tomorrow some time.  Today when school finished I picked up Aaron & Maddison and their little friends, Yara & Senna, and we went to their place for the afternoon.  OH MY GOODNESS ... four kids in the car aged between 2 and just over 4!!  WHAT A RACKET ... I think Aaron was the worst!  He was definitely not using his inside voice!  Didn't help that he was sitting in the front and was "directing" me (think he was pretending to be the GPS heheee), then when he was sure I knew which way to turn he'll turn around and yell to Yara where we were going and which way we were turning!  Seriously my ears were ringing by the time we got there!  I was glad it was only about a 6 minute drive!  LOL
.
The girls spent most of the afternoon running around with just knickers or nappies on (it was pretty warm!) so I didn't bother with photos today ;-)  They had a great time though and of course very upset when it's time to go home.  All is peaceful here now though :-)  Maddison hasn't had an afternoon sleep for 2 days and quite frankly she's pretty nasty by the time the afternoon comes around.  I am over it totally, but she just doesn't seem to understand that she's nasty because she's tired!  Oh well ... I keep telling myself that this too shall pass (probably be something worse so I guess I shouldn't complain!)  ;-)
.
There's a wedding celebration going on in one of the penthouse suites of our condo tonight ... if I didn't have kids I think I would be VERY tempted to park myself down in the foyer just to see all the guests arriving in their finery :-)  hehehee  I saw a couple of guests in the lift and they looked very beautiful, the lady was in pink and purple :-)  But I didn't want to stare too much!!
.
Right I am out of here.  Hope to be back with something creative to share soon.

Woo Hoot

Woo Hoot Wednesday again.

Woo hoot for Aaron ... so far today he's done his wees in the toilet (or close to it!) which is much better than yesterday's episodes of the couch and the floor in my craft room!

3 more sleeps till Lyndon gets home.

Woo Hoot for sisters that send dark peppermint chocolate in with their nieces birthday presents :-) (A bit squashed and melted, but I am enjoying it all the same!) :-)

Woo Hoot that Maddison is better, she's still not 100%, but she's heaps better. Her eyes have got their sparkle back, they were a bit flat looking on Monday!

Woo Hoot for Aunty Irene coming tomorrow and maybe Friday too :-) :-) :-)

I feel a bit funny Woo Hooting for making to round 12 of PSA when Jessy has pulled out for health reasons. (Still waiting the results of the winner for round 11. It's been a LONG day!)

Ikea are having a sale (which makes it even more of a madhouse there), but I scored these candles cheap and played today with serviettes. Just used my heat gun to adhere them. MUCH quicker and cleaner than using Mod Podge glue.

I have some new craft toys! I bought a craft sheet from Ranger. Seriously it is great. Ink, paint, alcohol inks, wax, glue all just wipes off. (Actually looks very like a baking sheet, not sure which would be cheaper ... probably the baking sheet!)

Also discovered the difference between Stickles and Kindy Glitz. I have asked a few people but no-one seemed to know ... so for those that wondered like me ... when they are dry Kindy Glitz is flat and Stickles remains bumpy/lumpy. You can't really tell in this pic - the top one is Ice Stickles Crystal Ice and the bottom Kindy Glitz Crystalina. Both have their place, but I really like the Stickles. I used to put Dimensional Magic over my Kindy Glitz and I don't need to do that with Stickles :-)

That's it for now. Hope you've all had a great Wednesday.

Early Start ...

An early start this morning! Lyndon up at 5am to catch taxi to airport. He's off to Singapore, back Friday night. Then phone rang around 7am I think, Aaron was already in bed with me, just got to the phone when it stopped - don't you hate that. Anyway that put paid to Aaron lying quietly again. I got told repeatedly that "phonou was very noisy"! (wonder if he ever realises just how noisy he is!!) One bonus though - got to have my shower while Maddison was still asleep. The downside ... just finished doing my hair and came out to the kitchen to find Aaron standing at the fridge, door wide open, my SPECIAL dark peppermint choc box in his hand and his mouth absolutely bulging! When he saw me he gave me the most angelic look and said "peese Mummy"! It nearly melted my heart! I don't know how many chocs he had in his mouth but there was only 3 left! (I ate them right then just in case I missed out!!) :-)

Had a late night last night. Lyndon got back late - stayed back after mtg to celebrate 20th wedding anniversary of some of our friends ... kids were quite choice last night so I didn't go out. I had put the cot into our room so I could get both kids to sleep at the same time without me going crazy, so I couldn't go to bed till Lyndon got home so he could shift Maddison's cot back into Aaron's room! (Well that was my excuse anyway!) So I scrapped ... I've been playing with the papers from Paper Pesto's April kit. It came with little calenders which are so cool, I got July and August (very appropriate), but for this layout I wanted a December one, so made it myself in Word. Cream and beige Bazzil, chipboard arrow and photo turn and brad are from my stash the rest is from the kit.

My scrapping is all over the place at the moment ... very random! Wedding photos, Aaron's baby pics, photos from this year. :-) Oh well who cares. It's as the inspiration strikes I suppose.

I have another one of Aaron nearly finished - it's a 5x7 print of when he was 1. But am trying to encourage myself to use what lettering I have and that I don't really need to go and buy something to suit the layout! (Depressing I know ... I don't have enough of the stickers from the Paper Pesto kit which is a shame as they would have done.) So need to put my thinking cap on and "fiddle".

Catch-Up!

I have heaps to blog about ... missing 3 days of blogging sure adds up, especially when Hubby gets back home after being away for 10 days and you have a party amongst it all :-) So ... here goes:

Okay ... here's some pics of Aaron at the playground on Friday (11th) ... these are to go with his "Hot and Sweety" saying! :-) hee hee (Was sure glad to get back inside to the air con I tell you ... it was boiling out there.)

Lyndon got back home around 11pm on Friday night and yes I did get out of bed to inspect the goodies he bought me and the kids back :-) I just had to open the pack from
Paper Pesto - I won some paper from them and then decided to buy their April kit and also their "Pitter Patter" kit as well. It was all just gorgeous. I am sure going to have fun with all that. (No time for photos sorry). One of my card friends back in Auckland gave me a copy of the latest Stampin' Up catalogue, so more things to wish for and something else to dog-ear the pages on!! :-)

He bought some little Pumpkin Patch singlets for Maddison and some pressies for the kids from Nana & Grandad (a little singlet with lace on it for Maddison and a little tractor & trailor for Aaron). And ... naughty boy forgot to get my much requested dark peppermint choc when he was in NZ!!! (Ugggh - His excuse was he lost the list I had written somewhere between Akl and Chch, but remembered the choc but thought he could get it in Auz to save time!!!) Anyway I forgave him because (a) he came home! and (b) he bought some nice dark choc after dinner mints from some flash shop in Aussie!!

Here's some pics of Aaron and Lyndon getting the train track sorted on Saturday - Mum obviously doesn't do it quite right!!

Okay gotta go and get Aaron from school. More later.

Chocolate ...

Ummmmmm, Lyndon is home and he bought me a treat!!! Devine! Apparently you pay by the gram for these ... they are the gold of chocolates! Godiva Chocolatier ... hey wouldn't that be a great job ... being a Chocolatier!! It's up there with being a scrapbooker!!

On more mundane news ... I didn't get the meatloaf made, by the time I did my previous post and then dealt with the kids, Aaron had past the point of nearly no return, so it was spaghetti and mince (that's the blunt words ... suppose I could call it something fancy if I tried!). After tea he was in a much happier frame of mind (amazing what 3 M&M's can do to him (wonder who's son he is!!) :-)

Here he is playing in a box that the groceries came in yesterday. Check out the holes in the bottom ... I cut those so he could see where he was going as yesterday he was wearing it and kept on walking into Maddison - he's so rough with her.

Oh ... tonight he was looking through a book while I was shovelling tea into him and he says "what's this" and points at a penguin. So I tell him it's a penguin, and he goes "what does the penguin say" and doesn't wait for my reply but says (in high pitch squeaky voice) "penguin, penguin, penguin". Hope he doesn't get a complex with me laughing hysterically at him! :-)

Well that's it for tonight, I am off to bed (after another chocolate of course).

Cheers
Rachel

Finally ...

Today has been pretty much same old same old! But ... don't have heart failure ... I have finally completed Maddison's birth thank you cards! Yeah I know - I still have to write in them yet ... but I am half way there!

Lyndon is in India this week and gets back some time Saturday morning, so my aim is (we shall see) to get as many cards written as I can in the next 2 weeks. Of course it's taken me 7 months just to finish making the 90 odd cards, so am I being realistic thinking I can write that many notes in 2 weeks?? (well it's less than that now!) Maybe, just maybe Maddison will be a perfect little darling and sleep every afternoon that Aaron is at school so I can make good in-roads into them!!

Think I need to stock up on my supply of chocolate to do this task ... it's rather daunting ... and I do find chocolate helps all sorts of bothers! :-) (Do you know what is really depressing over here ... they don't have Cadbury Dark Peppermint chocolate! How sad is that! They obviously have no idea what they are missing. They do have other Cadbury choc though so I am doing my best to support the industry.)

In the mean time I am off to bed ... can't face writing neatly tonight!!!

p.s. Just because I mentioned I am missing peppermint choc, please don't feel you have to post me some. It melts! Trust me on this I know! But if you come for a visit ... you know what to bring me :-) hee hee
