Valentine's Day Craft

Yesterday afternoon I spent time in Aaron's class making flowers with them for Valentine's Day. They also had snacks while watching a valentine themed Winnie the Pooh movie. I made cinnamon buns (in red paper cases) and jam drops and the other Mum who was doing it with me bought red juice and watermelon cut into heart shapes :-)

I couldn't find red doily's anywhere, so I ended up spraying them with a cranberry colourwash. Was a bit messy and they had to wait for them to dry, but they turned out cute. The other Mum helped them make the crepe paper ones. She also gave them bling to add to it and a scent to spray on them! Very flash :-) I used my Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves Sizzix die to cut out one of the leaves about 100 times, so they had leaves to add to the stems.
Here they all are bunched together after they had finished.

'Our Little Princess' Layout & Some Cards

Hi there, I'm back with another LO using Scrappin Studio's February main kit "Daydream Believer" and add-on kit "Pleasant Valley".

Love the Mistables Pinked Trim in the main kit ... I used Tattered Angels glimmer mist Cherub Pink and Creme de Chocolat on them. And did you notice the sewing machine stitching?!! :-)

This cluster of flowers I actually cut out from the background paper (behind the photo) and mounted it with foam tape for dimension.
Another thing I love about these kits is the amount of alphas included :-) So many to choose from! These ones are like scrabble tiles, but I overlapped them all (mainly because Princess didn't fit into the space otherwise!).
.
This piece of 'Dear Lizzy" paper is from her new collection Neapolitan. I've used lots of pieces from this one page on the LO above and the cards below. (This piece is in the add-on kit "Pleasant Valley"). :-)

I also made a couple of quick cards - using everything from the kits.

Thanks for visiting and happy scrapping.

New tank for Tom

Over the last few days Lyndon has been checking out Mudah (which is like Trademe for my NZ readers) :-) for a 2nd-hand tank for Tom. We've done a bit of research and looked at lots of videos about Red-eared slider turtles to find out a bit more about them and see what they like. Tom is definitely a male :-) Males are smaller than the females, but have longer claws and a longer tail.
.
Today Lyndon and Aaron went off to check out this tank and bought it home. It's 4ft long and is now set up on our lounge balcony. The stand is a bit rusty, but one day I will get round to giving it a new coat of paint. It came with the picture on the back and we bought the filter over the weekend.

Introducing Tom to his new home.

He was very busy exploring ...

Tonight Lyndon went back to the pet shop and got a floating basking rock for him and a plant (which seems kind of lonely all by itself so might have to get some more).

iPad Fever!

Here's a LO I put together last night using February's main kit "Daydream Believer" with a couple of bits from the "Pleasant Valley" add-on kit.

I was so excited when my kits arrived yesterday from Scrappin Studio :-) After the kids were in bed I ignored the housework that needed to be done and started playing. Took me a while to get into the groove of scrapping again actually ... it's been a few months since my last LO!!

The main kit comes with some natural chipboard thickers. I inked them with distress ink. The buttons and little wooden 'oh happy day' banner are from the add-on kit.

Love the little journal box stamp too.

Red cardstock, thread and mustard and pumice stone distress inks are from my stash.
.
If you are in Asia and want to order a Studio Calico kit then contact Scrappin Studio :-)

Happy scrapping & thanks for visiting.

Tom Turtle Art

Yesterday Maddison drew and coloured a picture of Tom. I think Aaron may have helped with the outline of the turtle a little bit and I am sure he drew the evil eyebrows! But she did the rest.
:-) It has pride of place on the fridge.

Sorry it's sideways - I don't know why and I find it very frustrating that it's doing this!
