My Boys ...
Today was Aaron's 1st day at his new international school. On Wednesday we had orientation, so he and I went along to that. Listened to several people talk about how wonderful the school was etc. etc. (why little kids had to sit and listen to that when they weren't at all interested I really don't know!), had 2 trips out to the toilet with one little fidget pants during that session. When that was over I got my pass so I can come and go with ease through the school's security, found his classroom and met his teacher, and the best bit for Aaron that day ... the playground right outside his classroom's door!!! He came into the classroom said hello (in a little voice) to the teacher, found his name on a pile of papers we needed and then said "can I go to the playground now?"!!! :-) So while he got very hot and sweaty out there I chatted with the teacher and met some of the other parents.
.
It really is a small world you know ... I met a lady who I've seen and talked to at the hospital where we had Samuel and at the Dr's, and she has a little boy that is going to be in Aaron's class! There's also a little girl in his class that was in his class at Montessori. But kids make friends pretty quickly - it's amazing really just watching. All different nationalities and they are all playing together :-)
.
Today Aaron and I had to be at school for an hour - it was mainly just to meet some of the other kids in his class and mothers and find out the basics about getting to and from school, policies, etc. etc. etc. The important stuff we weren't told at orientation! LOL
.
So he had to be at class at 8.30am! Yesterday he took an hour to eat his breakfast! What to do!! Last night I put out his uniform all ready for him and had his bag all packed with his stationery supplies. I got up at 6.30 to have my shower and when Lyndon bought Samuel in for me to shower I saw Aaron was up already, happy as larry! So he jumped into the shower as well (good job I am bigger than him so I can hog the water hehee). He got himself all dressed, ate up his breakfast (with some help from me spooning it in) and we were at the school (amongst all the other traffic) at 8.10. Amazing really! LOL Lyndon was going to come in with us, but the traffic was just horrendous and we couldn't find a park, so he ended up just dropping Aaron & I off and going back home with Maddison & Samuel. Aaron & I walked home when we finished.
.
Here's a couple of pics of him with his new uniform on.
.
Right - off to sort out some snacks for Aaron at school tomorrow - he has a half day tomorrow, Monday off and starts into it full time 8.30-3pm on Tuesday! He's going to be exhausted :-) :-)
.
Thanks for visiting.

Kids
Yesterday they did some painting (just add water ... I do like those kind of painting books hehee)
.
.
I'll have to do a LO about this little story as well .. just need to find a suitable picture ... maybe one of Maddison screwing up her nose hehee
.
We went down to check if there was any mail and when we got in the lift there was another lady in there. As soon as the doors opened I could smell durian. For those that don't know it has a very distinct smell which I find MOST unpleasant! Anyway Maddison starting talking away and I couldn't really understand what she was saying (mainly because I wasn't concentrating on her ... I was trying not to breathe through my nose!). The lady got out on a different floor to us and as she was leaving I finally realised what Maddison had been saying ...
.
Maddison - Mummy it smells in here!
Me - Yes it does, doesn't it.
Maddison - Mummy it smells nasty ... something smells.
Me - I know Maddison, but we'll be out of here in a minute.
Maddison - Mummy is it Samuel?!! (she even leaned over and smelt his bottom!!)
Me - hehee no it's not Samuel it's the smell of a very stinky fruit called durian.
Maddison - I don't like it, it smells.
Aaron - I don't like it either.
Me - Join the club!
.
I'll be honest with you ... I have never actually tasted durian - apparently it tastes better than it smells. But I just couldn't put something in my mouth that smells that bad, besides when you see what you actually eat from the fruit it looks weird - slimy sort of. (shudder) AND the smell lingers and lingers and lingers! Disgusting ... totally disgusting.
.
I'll just keep ignorant of the taste I think! ;-)

Last week
A few pics of what we got up to ...
And the BEST bit for me ... I actually got some crafty stuff done :-) WOO HOO. I am teaching a card class at Scrap-n-Crop early next month so got busy with the class kit :-) (You can check it out here.)

.
Bubbles in the playground.

Oh sad face ... it's all finished!
Samuel just snoozed right through it all :-)
Aaron telling Samuel some big story about the frog!
And this week is going to be busy ... Aaron has orientation on Wednesday at his new international school and he starts "big" school on Thursday!! Lyndon is in Singapore this week, but he'll be back to come with us to take Aaron's to his first day on Thursday. :-)

Last pics of Birthday Girl!
Apparently it's necessary to have 3 birthday cakes when you turn 3 ... I thought it was just 3 candles! We went out to friends on Wednesday night and they had a surprise cake for Maddison. She was pretty excited and enjoyed singing happy birthday again hehee She's been very spoilt. Hopefully she won't remember next year how many cakes she had when she turned 3 and expect 4! ;-)
On Friday Nana & Grandad's present arrived (took more than 2 weeks to find it's way to our mail box!) There were lots of lovely things in the bag ... but there was one thing in particular that she latched onto and has nearly slept with them since! This face sums up exactly how she feels about them!.
There was a Dora puzzle in the bag too ... that gets played with, but then she remembers she has new shoes, so the puzzle gets abandoned while she trots off making more noise!
This morning I took this photo because she was all ready to go Hahahaa ... ah no you are NOT wearing those shoes sweetie! They are special indoor shoes!! (wink wink) What a little scruff she is with her dummy in! Her handbag had a couple of little dolls, an elephant, and a couple of cars! We compromised and let her bring the bag since she couldn't wear her choice of shoes, but the bag had to stay in the car.
The post from New Zealand has been shocking this last month ... she's still waiting on a pressie. I do hope it hasn't gone to someones else's home!
.
It's August already ... the countdown is on to Aaron's birthday now. He's already anticipating how much hot wheel stuff he's going to get! LOL ... I think he's going to be VERY disappointed because he's not getting anywhere near the amount he thinks he is hehee Will be interesting to see what sort of cake he wants for his birthday too since he's already had his volcano and car cake.
