I'm still here

but where has the time gone? Can't believe that the first quarter of the year has disappeared and we are 7 days into April already.
.
It's been sort of quiet around here ... haven't been doing much these holidays actually. I've been scrapping a little bit, but not going to share them here. You don't need to see what all my relations look like (let alone the fact that they wouldn't want to be on here! LOL). I've done 6 pages though since I last blogged :-) Getting through that pile of photos. Feels good. Going to stop that though and work on something else now for the rest of the week (when I have time).
.
Aaron's getting very cheeky and if I am on the computer he tells me quite firmly to "get off Mummy, it's Aaron's turn, you go and work at your desk!!!" I think I have a bruise on my jaw from when it hit the floor the first time he said that.
.
Nana - this photo is for you ... Lyndon took a photo of Aaron when he was talking to you a couple of weeks ago :-) (probably telling you all about the "warries" no doubt!) LOL

Last Friday we went out for tea and I decided while we were at the mall to get Maddison's hair trimmed. I cut Aaron's hair myself, but that's fairly easy ... it's just a matter of zooming over his head with the trimmers, if you make a mistake, it's so short it doesn't really matter (heheee). But Maddison's a different story. I am not really comfortable with trimming her hair when she's so wiggly. Although I doubt I would do a worse job than what Aaron did. Here's a couple of pics of her in the rabbit chair. She thought it was pretty neat to sit up there and hang on. Didn't exactly keep very still though! I had to hold her head in my hands at one stage.

So her hair is a little bit shorter, but not much, just tidied it up a bit and hopefully all what Aaron cut will grow back real quick! The hairdresser was horrified heheeee, she kept shaking her head and saying "so short". :-)
.
I'm on the countdown for Creative Escape Works of the Heart in Singapore :-) Really looking forward to that. Just over 2 weeks away.
.
So on that note I will go and sort and print some photos for my next project. :-)

Another LO

I did this last night using Pink Paislee patterned paper and Coredinations cardstock from Kinda Sweet. This is the first time I have tried layering more than 2 flowers. Did it to try and incorporate more colours from the patterned paper. And that HUGE pompom trim ... got that at the start of the year when I went fabric shopping with Mum :-)

Okay, off to give the kids lunch then put Maddison to bed. Aaron has informed me several times this morning that "Maddison is trouble". LOL (actually he's been the one that's been the trouble!!!) But you know how much I like glimmer mist ... well Maddison has discovered my yellow bottle! She gets it out of the drawer at EVERY opportunity ... think I will have to rearrange my supplies out of her reach!

Portrait

Aaron drew a portrait of Maddison this morning :-) LOL Hope she appreciates it in a few years time :-) I might even frame it ... but for now it's on the fridge!

I wrote her name and his with dots and Aaron traced them. He's getting neater!
.
I've been scrapping too ... done a couple of LO's with some Pink Paislee papers from Kinda Sweet I've had in my stash for a while! Again just using up photos in 'that' pile.
.
These photos of Aaron I have NO idea why I printed them. I can't remember the story behind them now! Anyway I decided to scrap them and maybe I'll remember something about it to do some journalling later! (Moral of the story here ... either write it down or scrap them a lot sooner!!)

More 2005 photos. Blurred Aunty's face (sorry Aunty!). Love that cake though ... still got a few more LO's to do from this party. :-)

Okay, off to stop the kids fighting over my craft punch collection! (didn't realise I had that many!)

.

*Edited to add Basic Grey accepted my 'Capture the Moment' LO from yesterday's post into their gallery :-)

I wish this was an April Fool's Joke!

Told you it was quite a bit of hair Aaron chopped off Maddison!!!
But thankfully you can't really tell ... can you? At least it wasn't her coconut tree! LOL
And yeah I saved the hair for a scrapbook page! Just need to get a photo of the scissors! heheee
.
I've been scrapping. I've FINISHED scrapping the photos from our July 2005 holiday we had with Lyndon's family! :-) Feels good to get that done. Not going to "publish" them on my blog though ... too much to blur out and can't be bothered!
.
But you can see these ones. These are photos from the "to scrap" pile as well. Actually they are all pics of Aaron from September 2006. Him and I had a week with my parents and I took tons of photos (as I do!).
.
Used the new snorkel range from Cosmo Cricket. Cool paper. I have HEAPS of other neat bath and swimming photos I could have used with this, but didn't have the photos printed and I am trying to scrap photos in my pile, so these ones got the cool paper! I hand wrote the journaling amongst the fish at the bottom of the page.
I bought a DCWV paper stack when I was in Singapore at the beginning of the year ... it's called the Green Stack. Also bought the box of embellishments to go with it and shared them with Mum. This is the first LO I've done with the papers.

And more Basic Grey Archaic :-) Had this LO done for ages actually, just finished the journaling today.

Okay, off to sort tea out. Thanks for looking.

Reaveal of SnC's Reminiscence Kit

Here's what I created with the April kit from Scrap-n-Crop called Reminiscence. I had such a lot of fun with this kit. Scrapped some older photos and some new ones too :-) AND used tons of scraps from my cardstock box to make a series of cards.
.
I would have thought Val picked the music sheets sheets especially for me ... but I don't think she did ... they were all in order as they'd been taken from the book. But they sure were appropriate ;-)
.
I made 6 LO's, a mini album and 18 cards using the kit. If you check out the gallery I've written under each one what I've used from the kit or my stash. You can also see in the gallery what Sharmaine made ... or check her blog post here (she's added some more pages from her mini album).
.
Spaghetti LO - the base cardstock was actually a pale blue and I was really struggling with what to do with it because I knew I wanted to use these photos and the music sheet ("on top of spaghetti"). It was the last piece of cardstock from the kit and my last LO ... then I had the brainwave (which lots of others have had before me! lol) of spraying the billyo out of it ... and yep I used my new olive vine glimmer mist heheheee

Musician's LO - check out the music sheet ("Battle Hymn of the Children") hehehee (Not that these 2 were fighting then :-)
Art Deco Home LO ... most disgusted with myself that I never took any photos of our house before we left Auckland. I can't believe it. I did lots of video (although I am not sure where exactly that is!), but no photos! Used one from 2004. Sigh ... moving countries and new babies do that to ones brain I suppose.
Mum LO - Cute huh :-) And there's that olive vine glimmer mist again (wonder if I should buy another bottle!).
Dad LO - he's cute too :-) Like the title on the record? "Golden Boy" heheee
Wait LO - a LO for Aaron's album about how we waited, and waited, and waited for him to arrive ;-)
A little mini album. It's full of cute photos too! Decided I would do a little album of baby/toddler photos of mine and Lyndon's parents as well as us for the kids to look at so that they can see what we were like as kids. The inside pages of this album are covered in paper that isn't in the kit, it's from my stash, but the same brand and theme as the cover patterned paper. Perfect :-)

And 18 cards.

Altered cigar box to hold my cotton collection (for someone that doesn't sew I sure have a lot!). Like I said in yesterday's post, I didn't actually use any paper from the kit on this, but see that blue/white lace paper at the top of the lid (right corner) well that is the same brand and collection as a piece of the patterned paper in the kit. Scrap-n-Crop have the papers here.

Okay gotta go ... while I have been doing this post my son (although I don't want to own him at this point) has been very busy with his scissors cutting pieces of paper into tiny pieces. BUT I have just discovered that Maddison, who has been up at my craft desk, has had a hair cut!!! I am not amused ... thankfully it doesn't look so bad although he's cut a lot off. So yes Lyndon you can say "I told you so"! Sigh ... will post pics of the damage later. Bye.
